Volkswagen Has Another SUV in the Works

Have you seen the Atlas out in the wild yet? If not, you’ll probably get the chance soon enough. The new three-row SUV is selling well in North America. With this success, VW announced it will make a new version of the Atlas.
Yes, that was fast. Really, Volkswagen planned this long ago, but it’s wasting no time beefing up its SUV offerings here. The second Atlas will have 5 seats, so it’s smaller, but we don’t know exactly how much smaller.
Volkswagen announced the new SUV will be built in Chattanooga, where the Atlas is currently made.
We’ll see a concept of this 5-passenger Atlas, whatever It’ll be called, at the New York International Auto Show this year. Right now, we just have the rendering above, which gives you a ballpark idea of what VW might be thinking. So far it looks good, but the production version probably won’t break cover until 2019.
