The Stelvio Quadrifoglio Isn’t Cheap

We knew the new Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio wasn’t going to be cheap, but it’s now officially the most expensive Alfa Romeo you can buy. With an MSRP starting at $79,995, you’ll need to be counting up all the pennies from your piggy bank for this SUV.

Of course, for that price you get a 505-horsepower vehicle that will be practical enough to take the kiddos to soccer practice. It can also do 0 to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds and hit 176 mph, on the track, of course.

Alfa Romeo is really playing up that the Stelvio Quadrifoglio set an SUV lap record at the Nurburgring. It got around the Green Hell in 7 minutes and 51.7 seconds, which is impressive. I’m not sure how many people are actually going to track this SUV when they get it, even though that would be pretty cool. Instead, it’ll be spending a lot of time in the parking lots at spas, golf pro shops, and fine dining establishments.

Yes, this will be another item of conspicuous consumption, just like the Mercedes G-Wagen. Sure, it’s a capable SUV, especially at fattening up Alfa Romeo’s profit margins.
