We’ve known about the 2015 Ford Edge for some time now, as Ford first revealed it in concept form way back in 2013, then followed that up with the all-new production version in June 2014. When Ford unveiled the production version, however, it had not certified the performance numbers of all of its engines, including the new-for-2015 2.7-liter EcoBoost. Now with the Edge’s release date just around the corner, Ford has announced that with the 2.7-liter engine installed, the 2015 Edge Sport is the most powerful Edge Ford has ever built. It has also outline the output for the other two engine in the Edge lineup.

In total, the 2015 Edge Sport’s 2.7-liter EcoBoost lays down 315 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque, which accounts for a 10-horsepower and a 70-pound-feet increase over the previous range-topping 3.7-liter V-6. Fuel economy with the EcoBoost 2.7-liter sits at 18 mpg city and 27 mpg highway with front-wheel drive, which means it maintains the 3.7-liter’s city mileage and gains 1 mpg on the highway. The all-wheel-drive version remains at the same 17 mpg city as the 3.7-liter, but jumps from 23 mpg to 24 mpg highway.

Outside of the Edge Sport range, the other engine options include the standard 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine with 245 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque, and the optional 3.5-liter V-6 with 280 horses and 250 pound-feet.

On top of the powerful engine, the 2015 Edge Sport’s suspension has been reworked to include 15 percent stiffer anti-roll bars on the front and rear, unique monotube dampers, and 10 percent stiffer springs. This revised chassis returns 20 percent less body roll than the 2014 model. Standard 20-inch polished aluminum wheels sit under the Edge Sport, while 21-inch dark low-gloss aluminum wheels with sticky summer tires are available as an option.

The Edge Sport also comes packed with tons of goodies, like leather sport seats with suede inserts, aluminum pedals, ambient lighting, metal-plated accents, Ford SYNC with an 8-inch touchscreen, two configurable LCD screens, two USB ports, an SD card reader, and a 12-speaker audio system.

The 2015 Edge goes on sale in the spring of 2015 with a base price of $28,100, and the Sport will check in at $38,100.
