As a Vermont resident with a Focus ST, I can attest to the value of a good set of winter shoes on your car. If you’re like me, however, you are just too damn cheap, lazy, or maybe both to go dig up a nice aftermarket package of steelies wrapped in winter rubber for the six months a year this area is covered in several inches of the white, fluffy stuff. Yup, I am still rocking my 265-series Goodyear F1s in the dead of winter—don’t judge, I drive very slowly. Ford just announced that it’ll remove one winter-tire conversion step from the STs big bro, the Focus RS, by offering a winter wheel-and0tire package straight from the factory.

While I am sure the out-the-door price of this package is no better than creating your own aftermarket winter package, it does take the guesswork out of picking the perfect package for your RS. More importantly, you can roll this price right into your monthly payment.

This package includes a set of 18-by-7.5-inch wheels that look quite similar to the base RS rollers save for their sparkle silver paint to mask the hideous white mess left behind by salt on the roads. Wrapped around these wheels is a set of Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 winter shoes sized 225/40R18. Tire Rack rates these tires “Superior” in every category, except the “Excellent” is gets in Ice Traction, so you know they are going to do you right.

What’s more, these tires also carry a V speed rating, so despite being winter tires, they can still handle the twisty stuff and higher speeds without issues.

As for pricing, it’s really not too shabby at $1,995 for the wheels and tires. The tires alone run around $1,000 online, and we all know how expensive factory wheels are. To sweeten the deal, Ford is tossing in the tire pressure sensors too.

Now you can fully enjoy your Focus RS in the wintertime without having to spend hours hunting down that perfect winter tire-and-wheel package on the Internet.
