First Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Reviews Come In
While the Chrysler Pacifica has racked up quite a few high praises, until now we haven’t had any opinions about the hybrid version. The first wave of reviews are here, and most are positive.
To be fair, there aren’t any other minivans to compare the Pacifica Hybrid to, because it’s the first hybrid, let alone plug-in hybrid, on the market.
Green Car Reports said it was impressed with how the minivan stayed in all-electric mode even when pushed, unless drivers really went for it, or the battery ran out. In the review, the website that’s geared for fans of alternative fuel vehicles noted there aren’t many options for customizing how the powertrain behaves, unlike on a Chevrolet Volt or BMW i3, which was about the only disappointment.
Autoweek was impressed with the real-world all-electric range, which reviewers felt could possibly top 40 miles in the right conditions. It also noted the Pacifica Hybrid (and the regular version) corner better than probably any other minivan out there, which isn’t saying much, but it does put the Chrysler ahead of the competition.
MotorTrend agreed that the plug-in hybrid minivan is actually fun to drive. The review also noted that the transition between driving modes is smooth and seamless, plus doesn’t require drivers to do anything special.
So there you go: the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is at least worth checking out, if you believe any of the reviews.
