Alfa Romeo 4C Spyder to Debut in Detroit

The Alfa Romeo 4C Spyder is no mystery. In fact, Alfa even previewed it at the 2014 Geneva Auto Show with a production-looking concept that only lacked a few bits and pieces to allow it to hit the road. Unfortunately, since its preview model was debuted, we’ve heard very little about the new, topless 4C. That all looks as if it’s about to change following a single statement at the end of a blog post about the 4C Launch Edition debuting.

The blog post from FCA starts off rather blandly, talking about 4C Launch Edition models finding their way to their respective owners, but it’s the ending that really gets our juices  flowing. The final statement by FCA reads: “Of course, if you like what you see, there will be more over the next few years. Alfa Romeo plans to introduce eight new models by 2018. You’ll get your next Alfa fix at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January.”

The only Alfa that I know of that would have any business showing up at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, which kicks off on January 6, would be the official production version of the 4C Spyder. There are, of course, other Alfa Romeos that are rumored to make it across the pond, but the most immediate one is the 4C Spyder.

On top of this statement, several news outlets have spotted a production version of the 4C Spyder completely uncovered during a photo shoot. The noted changes on the spied production version are the addition of new cooling vents just in front of the rear wheels and repositioning of the exhaust from the center to the corners.
