BMW Tweaks the M240i With an M Performance Package
Europeans have all the fun, and BMW proved this point again with the addition to the M240i. And now it’s revealing a new M Performance Package for said 2er.
This package is purely aesthetic, so I guess there isn’t too much to cry over. On the outside, the M240i with the M Performance Package will gain 19-inch light-alloy wheels wrapped in 225/35R19 rubber up front and 240/30R19 on the rear, new front air guides, front splitter, front bumper with a matte-black lip spoiler, black grille bars, partially painted rear diffuser, and a carbon-fiber rear spoiler.
Rounding out this package are carbon-fiber mirror caps, carbon-fiber tailpipe trim with an embossed M logo, and M Performance inscribed side sills.
Sadly, there are no performance updates. But, then again, the M240i doesn’t need much help in this department. It rolls in with a 3.0-liter inline-six engines that injects a mighty 340 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual gearbox or an eight-speed automatic. The six-speed manual is available with standard rear-wheel drive, while the automatic comes standard with xDrive all-wheel drive.
The M240i M Performance sprints to 62 mph in as little as 4.4 and tops out at 155 mph.
The special version of the M240i will arrive in showrooms in July 2017, and BMW will limit it to just 750 units.
