Scion Reveals the FR-S Release Series 2.0
Scion has been steadily rolling out limited-edition Release Series models, and now there is a new model to add to this lineup. This latest model is the FR-S Release Series 2.0, the obvious follow up to the FR-S Release Series 1.0.
This new Release Series model features plenty of interior and exterior modifications to set it apart from its siblings. On the outside, it features exclusive spoilers up front and out back, and the body is coated in a Lunar Storm paint. The corners are patrolled by 17-inch forged alloy wheels.
Inside, the FR-S Release Series 2.0 receives even more upgrades. In here, you’ll find Alcantara-covered heated seats with Camel accents, also covered in black and Camel leather are the steering wheel, shifter knob, and parking brake lever. This Camel color also finds its way to the armrest on the doors, the upper door trim, and the contrast stitching. The final aesthetic upgrade to the cabin is an embroidered Release Series badge with sequential numbers from 1 through 1,000.
Included with the Release Series 2.0 are a few extra luxury bits, like a smart key with push-button start, dual-zone climate control, and HID headlights.
The 2016 Scion FR-S Release Series 2.0 will start from $29,510 with a six-speed manual transmission. Optionally, buyers can go with a six-speed auto transmission paddle shifters and Dynamic Rev Management. As I mentioned earlier, there will only be 1,000 examples of the Release Series 2.0 available.
