Mercedes Gives Us a Look at the New G-Class
We’ve finally gotten an official look at the new Mercedes G-Class exterior. Of course, the photos feature lots of camo, but you get a general idea of what the new SUV looks like.
One of the most anticipated new vehicle reveals is the Mercedes G-Class. It’s the first time this legendary SUV has been reworked, and plenty of people have been nervous about it. In the past, Mercedes showed off a radical concept that looked highly modern, and nothing like the good ol’ driving block.
For anyone who isn’t a fan of radical change, this new version of the G-Wagen should be rather pleasing. While we can’t see all the fine details, overall the shape seems pretty much the same. This is still a tall, angular box of an SUV, instead of something sleek and highly modern.
The bad news is that supposedly it will no longer have a box-on-frame construction, but instead will be a unibody. That’s a rumor, and a believable yet sad one. Hopefully it isn’t true, because the G-Class at its core has always been about hardcore off-roading, even if Americans think it’s made for frequenting luxury retailers only.
