The Hennessey Velociraptor 6×6 Gets a Mortgage-Sized Price Tag
Remember hearing about that insane six-wheeled Ford Raptor from Hennessey? Well, the Velociraptor 6×6 will unsurprisingly cost as much as some houses at $349,000.
Before you balk at spending that much for a truck, just know this thing is a relative deal. No, that’s not sarcasm, because the Mercedes G63 6×6 crosses the half million-dollar mark. That’s the difference between something with a three-pointed star versus a blue oval badge.
Of course, scarcity is a big factor in the Velociraptor 6×6 price. Hennessey says it will only make 50 of these things, so don’t expect to see one in the school pickup line or parked outside the local waffle house. A fair amount will probably be sold internationally, with the Middle East being a very likely destination for quite a few.
To get this monster of a truck moving, Hennessey tuned a V-8 to whip out 602 horsepower and 622 lb.-ft. of torque. The thing actually really moves, with a claimed 0-60 time of 4.9 seconds. In case you hit some difficult terrain, the rear axles can be locked.
Orders are being taken now, but probably for not much longer.
