Chevy already revealed most of the updates coming to the 2019 Camaro lineup, but it left one Shock-ing update for the SEMA auto show. And we recently got a preview of this update.
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the 2019 Chevy Camaro Highlighter Edition. OK, maybe that’s a little harsh, but the new Shock color option Chevy will preview at the 2018 SEMA Auto Show certainly lives up to its hyperbolic name. It’s reminds me of my junior-year anatomy book: covered in yellow, but still complete nonsense.
Look, I am a fan of wild color options. Plum Crazy and Go Mango were awesome examples of bold color choices, but this rolling Sharpie seems like a cry for attention. And if you opt for this hue, you can forget about blending in with traffic when rolling past a cop on the side of the highway. Of course, that bright hue may just make his equipment fail.
Anywho… besides this eye-popping (I mean that literally) new hue, Chevy will also show off other new updates at SEMA. The 2019 Camaro will have a new assortment of optional goodies to tinker with, including second-generation ground effects, a black wing spoiler, exposed carbon-fiber fuel-door insert, black Camaro fender badges, 50-state-legal cold-air induction kits, RECARO performance seats, a Brembo six-piston front brake upgrade kit, and 1LE suspension components.
The Camaro SS Shock that will burn the retinas of SEMA attendees also will boast a few concept accessories, including a relocated front bow tie emblem, and hood and fender graphics.
The 2019 Camaro in the new Shock hue will be available in early 2019. Stay tuned for updates.
