The Cadillac Escalade Incentives Have Dropped

If you want to buy a new Cadillac Escalade, now’s a good time to jump on it. Automotive News reports GM is offering a $5,000 discount, all in an effort to curb demand for the all-new 2018 Lincoln Navigator.
The details of this discount make it clear what GM is going for. A buyer must be trading in a Lincoln that’s a 1999 model or newer. In other words, if you drive a GM vehicle and have been eyeing the Navigator, you don’t have the same incentive to go with the Escalade.
That’s not to say that GM isn’t working to earn everyone else’s business. Incentive spending for the Escalade averages out to $4,117, per J.D. Power analysis. Translation: Go to a Cadillac dealership and negotiate something. They have some wiggle room. Maybe mention how nice the new Navigator is.
Shoppers who qualify for the $5,000 Cadillac incentive can either lease or buy a 2018 Escalade. Starting MSRP for the SUV is $75,290.
Ford has a big deficit from which to dig out. One Morgan Stanley analyst says the Expedition and Navigator sales slump, combined with strong GM full-size SUV sales, puts GM at a $2 billion surplus.
