The Spyker C8 Aileron Reaches the End of the Road

It’s the end of an era for one of the most fascinating boutique automakers out there: Spyker. The Dutch brand has announced the final edition of the iconic C8 Aileron. Naturally, it’ll be highly limited. In fact, only three cars will be made.
Some tweaks come with this special edition model. For example, the wheel arches are wider, accommodating larger wheels. The same 525-horsepower supercharged V-8 from Audi propels this car from 0 to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds. Of course, that crazy 6-speed manual transmission is still in the mix.
The Spyker C8 Aileron LM85 is a tribute not only to an interesting vehicle, but also the automaker’s GT race cars. That’s what’s up with the paint: it matches the same scheme on the GTs, including a big S on the front and rear fenders for each side.
What’s more, each of the three C8 Aileron LM85s will have a unique color scheme. One will be Jet Black with Crimson details. Another is Crimson Red with Jet Black details, and the last one is Jet Black with Golden accents.
Considering the Spyker C8 Aileron launched back in 2008, having survived a close call thanks to the global financial crises, this really is something to celebrate. Now we can look forward to the C8 Preliator.
