The Corralled Pony Logo Returns on the 2018 Mustang

The corralled pony badge is an icon in the history of the Ford Mustang, as it was the original logo of the concept Mustang and remained for years after it debuted. The last time we saw the corralled pony was on the 2015 anniversary edition Mustang. But we’ll soon see it again, as Ford has announced a new package for the 2018 Mustang that will include this fenced-in pony.

Appropriately enough, this special package will be named the Pony Package. In addition to the return of the corralled pony in the grille, this package will also include 19-inch polished-aluminum wheels, bright beltline and window trim on the fastback models, premium carpeted floor mats with an ebony embroidered pony logo, side stripes on the lower body sides, and a tri-bar pony badge on the decklid applique.

This package will be available on all 2018 Mustang EcoBoost models. Oddly enough, this throwback package will not be available on the GT model.

There is no mention of just how much this package will cost, but I figure it will be less than $2,000.

The 2018 Mustang will hit showrooms in October 2017, but there is no mention of whether this package will debut along with the 2018 model or come later. There is also no mention of this package’s price.

Stay tuned for updates.
