The new F-150 Raptor is badass enough off the showroom floor, but in support of the Experimental Aircraft Association Gathering of Eagles – an organization and an event committed to aviation and encouraging youth involvement in flight — Ford created an even more awesome version and you can’t have it. That is, unless you’re the lucky soul who won it at auction for $300,000.
This beast is based on your standard F-150 Raptor but with a slew of performance, feature, and visual upgrades that are sure to please any buyer. Under its hood, the 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 gets a huge update that pushes it to 545 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque. Those are increases of 95 horses and 90 pound-feet. Ford didn’t dive into what all it did to achieve these massive gains, but it did mention the addition of a Whipple intercooler.
The chassis also received a few tweaks to make this already-off-road-prepped truck even more capable off the beaten path. These updates include a modified Addictive Desert Design front suspension and bump-stop kit, a Deaver rear spring pack, Fox bypass series shocks with adjustable compression and rebound valving, and Alcon six-piston caliper and high-friction pads gripping oversized rotors.
At the corners, Ford added a set of Innov8 Racing custom beadlock wheels wrapped in Falcon Wildpeak tires.
On the outside, there are plenty of sharp updates. Up front, there’s a 1.3 million-candela LED lighting system for off-road use, a unique paint scheme that integrates the looks of the F-22 fighter jet, a titanium grille, a silhouette of the F-22 on the front end, a LineX spray-in bedliner, a stainless-steel borla cat-back exhaust, power-retracting steps, and skull-cap-design mirrors. In addition, there are DeBerti carbon-fiber wheel flares, hood and fender vents.
Inside, the only updates Ford notes are its 1,500-watt Kicker audio system, and glossy and matte accents.
