BMW to Reveal the All-New X3 Via Live Stream

For as long as it’s been on the market, it’s hard to believe that the BMW X3 is only in its second generation. That will all end soon, as the third-gen X3 is set to be unveiled in just a few days.

Today, BMW announced that it’ll pull the veil from the all-new 2018 X3 during an event at the Spartanburg Plant in South Carolina on June 26. What’s more, the Bavarian automaker will live stream the reveal for the world to see. You can check it out here, or you can just watch the live feed below from 9:30 to 10:10 a.m. Eastern.

BMW has been pretty secretive about the new X3, but the experts at BMWBlog have laid out some expectations. According to the site, the X3 will be longer and wider than before, resulting in a roomier cabin. It’ll also be about 220 pounds lighter yet stiffer, helping it in fuel economy, handling, and acceleration.

Under its hood, experts claim it’ll feature two turbocharged gasoline engines: a 2.0-liter and a 3.0-liter. The former will likely land in the 230-horsepower range, while the latter will likely range from 320 to 360 horsepower — the higher-output version will power an M40i version of the X3.

In other countries (almost certainly not the U.S.), BMW will also deliver another M Performance model. This will be the M40d, which will boast a 320-horsepower twin-turbo diesel engine.

Rounding out the M Performance models will be a more aggressive M Sport package that includes enhanced aerodynamics and better-tuned chassis and steering bits.
