Ram Recalls Almost Half A Million Trucks For Fire Dangers

If you or someone you know has a Ram pickup truck, you need to know about a new, massive recall for 494,000 medium and heavy-duty models around the world. Ignoring it could lead to a fire, thanks to a water pump that tends to overheat. This is not something to ignore.

According to Fiat Chrysler, the only models effected are 2013 to 2017 Ram 2500s and 3500s. Of the 494,000models, 443,000 were sold in the United States.

So far, the automaker says no injuries or deaths have resulted from the problem, and hopefully it will stay that way. Still, a few owners have reported sudden truck fires that were caused by the water pump. Anytime fire is involved with a vehicle — whether it’s from friction, loose electrical connections, or a ruptured fuel line, etc. — it’s nothing to toy around with, so please spread the word.

Anyone who’s concerned about their vehicle being part of this recall can contact FCA’s recall hotline at 800-853-1403 or you can check in with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
