Europeans Can’t Get The 2018 Chevy Camaro ZL1 1LE

With constant reminders of “forbidden fruit” Europeans get to enjoy but Americans don’t, it’s nice to hear about a car you can get here but not on the other side of the pond. That’s right, Europeans can’t buy the 2018 Chevy Camaro ZL1 1LE.

Motor Trend says the awesome aero pack on the car is to blame. Apparently, all that downforce-generation engineering didn’t address one critical thing the European Union likes to focus on: pedestrian safety. I’m sure that front splitter and knife-like dive planes won’t feel too good striking you at any speed.

Hopefully, anyone here with enough cash to buy the ZL1 1LE loves it enough to not drive recklessly and hit anyone or anything, at least until they get to a track where you don’t have people crossing while typing on their “smart” phone.

If you were wondering, the 1LE package drops 60 pounds off the ZL1’s curb weight, plus more aggressive aero. The chassis gains Multimatic Dynamic Suspension Spool Valve dampers, plus wider and smaller wheels, and Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3R tires. In other words, it’s really for track duty, plus it looks cool. The package costs an additional $7,500, or it pumps the total price up to just under $70,000.
