Volvo Finally Reveals The New XC60

Volvo’s on a serious roll. The latest piece of evidence is the new XC60. It looks great, is loaded with tech, and could be the safest production SUV in the world. These things are going to sell in droves.

So far, almost a million XC60s has been sold worldwide. Now that it borrows its design from handsome big brother the XC90, including the Thor’s Hammer headlights, buying the XC60 will be a fashion statement.

If you don’t think about performance with the XC60, you should. With the new T8 plugin hybrid powertrain, drivers have 407 horsepower on tap. Volvo puts that to good use, giving the SUV a 0 to 60 time of 5.3 seconds. While that’s not completely bonkers, it shows Volvo’s taken the kid gloves off.

You can get all sorts of safety tech, including three types of steering assistance. Pilot Assist, a semi-autonomous system that manages acceleration, braking and steering on roads with plenty of markings, is a new option.
