Used Teslas Are Worth A Ton

Not too long ago, the big news was that Tesla’s valuation passed up Ford, and for a brief time GM. Now, thanks to a new study by Autolist, we know used Teslas also retain their value better than fellow domestic cars.

Autolist found the Tesla Model S often sells at prices higher than expected. Sometimes, the EV exceeded expectations by up to 5 percent, versus a mere 1 percent for top GM and Ford vehicles.

Used Teslas also sit for less time on the market. Autolist discovered the average Model S is listed for sale just 87 days. That blows away the average for Ford and GM’s best-selling models.

Just like any other vehicle, used Teslas are cheaper in certain markets. Autolist singled out five states as having the most affordable pools of Model S sedans, so maybe plan a trip if you want to get one for a relative deal. Those states in order of lowest average price are Maryland, North Carolina, Florida, Washington, and New Jersey.
