The World Loves The Ford Mustang

Ford wants you to know the whole world loves the Mustang. It whipped up a nice press release recently, declaring the pony car was the best-selling sports car globally for 2016. In fact, Ford saw a 6 percent increase in sales for the Mustang last year, with signs the love affair isn’t waning.

Before you think Americans are the driving force behind this trend, Ford revealed that Mustang exports are doubling each year. The car can be purchased in 140 different countries, with six new markets opening up later in 2017. Since 2015, 98,000 Mustangs have been snatched up in foreign countries, and that number will only increase.

Not too long ago, the Ford Mustang was the top-selling sports car in Germany, of all places. Needless to say, German automakers were none too happy about that.

The redesigned 2018 model could be even more appealing to international car shoppers who want something fun, but not too expensive. Among the improvements are more advanced onboard technologies, better all-around performance, and a sleeker exterior design.

Ford is also claiming the Mustang is the top-selling sports car in America over the last 50 years. Camaro fanboys might have a bone to pick with that, but what’s new? Oh, and Ford also wants to point out that with over 8.4 million likes on Facebook, it’s the most popular vehicle on the social media platform, in case you were wondering.
