Mercedes Drop Tops Get a Few Special Editions

Mercedes loves its special editions, and that’s not changing anytime soon. Recently, it added to its growing list of special models four times with two new SLC-Class models and two new SL-Class models.

The SLC-Class will start with the SLC300 RedArt Edition. This model will focus on enhancing the sporty nature of the SLC by adding gloss-red accents to the front spoiler, intake arches, rear diffuser, and side fins. These accents are on top of a Selenite Grey Metallic base paint job. Rounding out the outward look of this new SLC300 are exclusive 18-inch five-spoke wheels covering perforated front rotors and red calipers with “Mercedes-Benz” stamping.

Inside the RedArt Edition is exclusive stylized leather and Nappa leather upholstery, Silver Pearl Nappa leather inserts, red accent stitching, a RedArt Edition logo embroidered on the headrests, carbon-fiber-look leather on the sport steering wheel, headrests, and Dynamic Select selector.

The Mercedes-AMG SLC43 also has a special model, but it carries the name Performance Studio RedArt. This drop-top comes with the same paint scheme as the SLC300 RedArt Edition, but its rollers are 18-inch AMG 10-spoke units painted gloss-black with red edges. Peeking from behind these dark wheels are red-painted calipers with “AMG” lettering.

Inside, the SLC43 boasts black leather with Silver Pearl Nappa leather inserts, red contrast piping, red-bordered AMG floor mats, seat and neck heating, and carbon-fiber-look leather on the steering wheel, headrests, and Dynamic Select lever.

As for the SL450 and SL500, the will have a new design Edition model. The exterior of this rig is set off by its Brilliant Blue Metallic or Cardinal Red Metallic paint, AMG 10-spoke wheels sized 19 inches up front and 20 inches in the rear, chrome front-bumper flics, and special design Edition badges.

All three special editions will make their showroom debuts in the summer. Pricing will come at a later a later date.
