Another Wagon Is Coming Stateside

Too many Americans think of the Brady Bunch when someone mentions wagons. But lately, that trend seems to be changing. Maybe it’s the rising generation of Millennials, or maybe it’s that enthusiasts like me have been indoctrinating everyone possible. Whatever the reason, we’re getting yet another wagon for the US market, and that’s great.

This time it’s the 2018 Jaguar XF Sportbrake. What a time to be alive. Anyone who tries this Jag out will quickly realize it’s nothing Mrs. Brady would try piloting.

So far, it seems like Jaguar isn’t going to hype this wagon in the US, even though it’s getting the royal treatment across the pond. Hopefully, that doesn’t mean dismal sales here, because having this arrive and then being snatched away would be too much like the Chevy SS Sedan’s coming and demise.

We haven’t had a legit Jag wagon in the US for more than 30 years. Sorry, but the X-Type wagon was really a Ford Mondeo. And sure, the F-Pace is great, but it’s not a true wagon.

One big drawback about the XF Sportbrake is the price, which has been set at $71,445, according to a Car and Driver report. That’s pretty steep, even when compared to competitors from Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi.
