Back in 2015, Cadillac announced that it would add a plug-in hybrid version of the CT6, but it skimped out on some of the details. Now, with its production just about to kick off, Cadillac has revealed all the juicy details on this thrifty luxury rig.

The CT6 Plug-In Hybrid will feature a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that pairs with a two-motor EVT system to produce 335 horsepower and a mighty 432 pound-feet of torque. This oomph will get the big sedan to 60 mph in a respectable 5.2 seconds and up to 150 mph. On its 100-horsepower electric motor system alone, the CT6 will top out at 78 mph and travel up to 30 miles on a single charge – there is no mention of the charging time.

This powertrain delivers an estimated 65 mpg-e and a total cruising range of more than 400 miles. Unfortunately, there is no information on the fuel economy from just the gasoline engine.

The Cadillac CT6 will hit showrooms with its own packaging, which will start off with equipment similar to the Premium Luxury version of the gasoline-only CT6. This means it may carry features like 20-inch wheels, a Bose 10-speaker sound system, an UltraView sunroof, a full-color heads-up display, and a 12-inch full-color gauge cluster. In addition to these standard features, the CT6 will also have an available rear-seat infotainment system and enhanced night vision.

The 2017 Cadillac CT6 will hit showrooms in the spring of 2017 at a starting price of $75,095. Stay tuned for updates.
