8. Ford Mustang – MSRP from $22,510
The GT is out of the running here since it has an MSRP a couple thousand too high, but the V6 version of still in play. Before you dismiss the V6 Mustang as the “economy” version of the pony car, you should know that it has it where it counts. Peak output measures 305 horsepower and 280 lb.-ft. of torque. Ford still offers a six-speed manual transmission and an automatic with manual shift control for those who are scared of stick. With the optional Performance package added and a 3.31 gear ratio for the rear axle, the Mustang can go from 0 to 60 in just 5.7 seconds. Without the special upgrades, the acceleration takes 6.8 seconds, which still isn’t half bad. You can also add all kinds of fun upgrades from the factory, including a wide array of colors, different grille and hood configurations, body graphics, etc.
