When you buy a car, even an extremely expensive car, the relationship you form with the automaker is usual cordial, at best. Not so with Koenigsegg. Christian von Koenigsegg, the guy behind these absolutely bonkers hypercars, is so dedicated to ensuring customers have an amazing experience that he has a way to track all Koenigseggs using his smartphone.

If this sounds creepy, I doubt Koenigsegg owners take it that way. They have a dedicated WhatsApp group where they can chat with each other, no matter where in the world they are.

Christian von Koenigsegg spoke with CarBuzz in Geneva recently and spilled the beans on the Koenigsegg Owners App. It lets von Koenigsegg see where each car is at any given time. This app doesn’t just play Big Brother, it also lets owners log lap times and racetrack stats, plus get over-the-air updates kind of like how Teslas do.

This app also lets Koenigsegg see how customers use their cars, and make changes accordingly. It’s like getting extremely personalized customer service.
