Go ahead and laugh, because there are also plenty of people who think the Clubman is ugly and silly. Automotive News says that with current sales trends, the Clubman will become the most popular Mini model in the United States.

Americans love the Clubman so much that dealers can’t keep them in stock. Of course, most of the cars are being made to order, because everyone wants their own unique configuration.

Apparently, the thing that’s making the Clubman so popular is size. It’s the first model from the brand that’s technically a compact. Americans think size matters. This is the land of Chevy Tahoes and Ford F-150s.

Another big boost for the Clubman is its premium nature. It’s going head-to-head against the Audi A3 or Mercedes CLA. The 37 pieces of British flair are really winning over people who want that extra panache.

Mini dealers think that the newer models like the two- and four-door hardtops and the convertible will also drive loads of people to the showroom. Considering the brand’s sales have been down lately, it needs something to get things going again.
