Every year, we see cars come and go in this crazy world we’re living in. Some cars come with little fanfare, but others are so awesome that we just can’t wait to get our hands on them. As we get deeper into 2016, we are seeing just how awesome this year is shaping up for us car junkies.

From super-powerful rigs like the Ford GT and the Acura NSX to innovative green models like the Hyundai Ioniq, this year is shaping up to be a good one for launches.

1. 2017 Ford GT

There is no better car to lead our list of most-anticipated rigs of 2016 than the 2017 Ford GT. Its precise release date remains unknown, but Ford has promised it will arrive in 2016. With a 3.5-liter V-6—yes, a V-6—that is capable of pumping out more than 600 horsepower, the GT is likely more than just a car worth waiting for; it is more like the car to wait for.

The only downside to it all is that Ford will keep production super low and has a picky process for selecting who is worthy of the newest `Murrican supercar.
