Faraday Future Has Some Potentially Questionable Reservations

After Tesla racked up a ton of Model 3 reservations, it might seem impressive Faraday Future has pushed beyond 60,000 reservations. As some automotive news sites have pointed out, that number might a little questionable.

You see, with the Model 3 people had to plunk down a reservation fee. Sure, it was fully refundable and goes toward the purchase of the car, but still it meant you had to be at least kind of serious. With Faraday Future’s FF 91, officially you have to put down $5,000. But you can make a “low priority” reservation on the site without spending a dime.

Oh, and you can make several of these low priority reservations. That has some people wondering how many of the 60,000-plus are completely bogus.

This is yet another sign of Faraday Future trying to look bigger and more successful than it is. Some industry analysts question if the automaker will be around by the end of February. It’s been in serious financial trouble, and has suffered the departure of many high-level executives.

We’ve finally seen the FF 91 working, and not just a shell. But it might never hit the market.
