The Hellcats Earn Their Stripes

The Dodge Hellcat siblings have enjoyed plenty of success as the not-so-rich-man’s supercar killer. With more than 700 horsepower at their disposal and sprint times that rival cars more than triple their price tags, it is no surprise they are so popular. Today, Dodge has announced a mild tweak for the 2016 Hellcats that will enhance their looks.

I am talking about an optional dual-stripe package. These full-length stripes, which will be available starting in January 2016 for $995, have a carbon-fiber look that gives the powerful muscle cars a bespoke look straight off the showroom floor. In addition to the new stripes, the 2016 Charger and Challenger are available in a slew of color options, including Bright White Clear Coat, Redline Red, Pitch Black Clear Coat, Granite Crystal Metallic Clear Coat, Billet Silver Metallic Clear Coat, Jazz Blue Pearl Coat, TorRed Clear Coat, Ivory White Tri-coat, Maximum Steel Metallic, and the limited-edition Plum Crazy Pearl Coat.

Other than these new stripes, the 2016 Hellcat brothers gain new Laguna Leather, a Uconnect 8.4AM system with navigation, HD radio, and SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link. The 2016 Challenger Hellcat starts from $64,195 and the 2016 Charger Hellcat bases from $67,645.

Along with the announcement of these new stripes, Dodge has also announced that it will extend the availability of the Plumb Crazy hue. Earlier, Dodge said that it would eliminate this color following December 2015, but huge demand has pushed the automaker to extend its availability one more month. The new stripe package also had a little to do with this short extension.
