The BAC Mono Gets its Sea Legs With the New Marine Edition

Lightweight track cars are awesome, and one of the best is the BAC Mono. Today, BAC revealed a new version of its Mono designed for ocean travel. No, it doesn’t float; instead, it is designed to handle long journeys aboard yachts. As one may expect, BAC named this car the Marine Edition.

The BAC Marine Edition Mono comes with a carbon-fiber crane arm that is designed to lift the Mono on to and off of large yachts. Additionally, BAC developed the Marine Edition Mono for this crane, as it has custom lifting points on its chassis.

Since it will likely spend much of its time at sea, BAC will coat its components in an anti-corrosive material to prevent rusting. What’s more, every Marine Edition Mono will come with an Environmental Control Container System that allow its lucky owner to store their Mono in a climate-controlled environment.
Powering the Marine Edition Mono is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder Mountune engine that produces 305 horsepower and 308 Nm (227 pound-feet) of torque. This powerful four-pot pairs with a six-speed sequential transmission that delivers power to the rear wheels.

Now for the price… If you thought the standard BAC Mono was pricey, the Marine Edition Mono will blow your mind. BAC is starting this model at a whopping £500,000 ($776,126). Keep in mind, however, this price also includes the carbon-fiber crane arm and the climate-controlled storage container.
This model will be available in all of BAC’s key markets, including the U.S., Europe, South America, and Asia.
