Buick has been doing all it can in recent years to shed its image as a retiree-only car. Recently, it has made strides in this department with its new models, and apparently, it will continue to push the envelope with the redesigned 2017 LaCrosse. Today, we get a glimpse at this new model via a teaser image showing off its new grille.

According to the press release, the 2017 LaCrosse will borrow some styling cues from the Avenir Concept. Buick didn’t get too far into how much of the Avenir Concept will make it onto the LaCrosse, but the teaser image reveals that at least the grille will be nearly identical to the concept.

This new grille features a revised tri-shield logo placed on a wing that spans the width of Buick’s signature waterfall grille. If you put this teaser image side by side with the concept, you’ll see that it requires a close inspection to pick out the differences.

I can only hope that the rest of the body draws as much inspiration from the concept, which would push Buick to new heights.

In addition to a new body, the LaCrosse will also get new bones. It will sit atop a revised chassis that is lighter and stronger than the current model. This combined with a new five-link rear suspension will deliver a better-handling sedan while keeping the cabin serene.

Unfortunately, these are all the details Buick had for us. It did, however, announce that the new LaCrosse will debut at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show, which kicks off on November 17th. We’ll bring you more details as they become available, so stay tuned.
