McLaren continues to grow at a pace that it’s never seen before and today it grows again. Unlike most of the growth we’ve seen recently, this latest expansion will not net the automaker any road-going models; instead, it gains two new track-only rigs in the 570S GT4 and the 570S Sprint.

These two track-only cars give the newly unveiled McLaren Sports Series a much-needed presence in the world of racing. The 570S GT4 will hit the track boasting all sorts of goodies like the brand’s traditional carbon-fiber MonoCell II chassis, an FIA-approved roll cage, widened front and rear tracks, Pirelli racing tires, magnesium alloy wheels with center locks, two-way adjustable racing shocks, and an onboard air-jacking system.

Keeping the 570S GT4 planted on the track is a special aerodynamic kit that includes a high rear spoiler on aluminum pillars, a large front spoiler, and a revised floor assembly. The aero work also helps in cooling as a high-temp radiator sits beneath a GT3-inspired hood that features exit ducts to help extract heat from the snarling 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-8 that feeds this beast.

Handling the shifting duties is a seven-speed SSG transmission that ships power to the rear rubber.

McLaren plans to have the 570S GT4 homologated for all GT4 events by the 2017 racing season. Customer racing teams who want a piece of this action can get into this racing rig for £159,900 ($226,002).

Information on the 570S Sprint will be available in a few weeks. Stay tuned for more.
