Alfa Romeo Solidifies its Return to America with the Full Reveal of its Giulia Lineup in N.Y.
I never in my life thought I would say this, but Alfa Romeo is back in the U.S… First came the reveal of the 4C—a tiny sports car with a high-strung four-cylinder tucked behind the seats. Now, Alfa has officially unveiled the complete Giulia lineup with a pair of small-displacement, high-output engines.
We already learned what the range-topping Quadrifoglio model brings to the table, but as a refresher, it offers a Ferrari-built 2.9-liter twin-turbo V-6 that pumps out 505 horses. This model hits 60 mph in a lightning-fast 3.8 seconds and ran the Nürbugring in just 7 minute 58 seconds—the fastest time ever by a sedan.
The models we hadn’t learned about are the base and Ti trims. Both of these models will roll into New York boasting a 2.0-liter four cylinder engine with 276 horsepower paired with an eight-speed auto transmission and a carbon-fiber drive shaft. These models are available with rear-wheel drive or Alfa’s Alfa’s Q4 all-wheel-drive system. This base powertrain has the oomph to get the Giulia to 60 mph in a respectable 5.5 seconds.
The base Giulia and Giulia Ti are also pretty well equipped. They include premium items like leather seating, a 7-inch driver’s information screen, an Alfa-tainment system with 6.5- or 8.8-inch screen, and more.
Power isn’t all that makes up these rigs either, as they have plenty of agility too. Their agile nature is enhanced by an Alfa Active Suspension on the Quadrifoglio and Ti models, an active front splitter that adds up to 220 pounds of downforce to the Quadrifoglio, optional Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, and more.
I am sure there will be more to pass on once these models debut in New York, so stay tuned.
