The 2017 Mercedes-Benz CLA250 Gets a Nip Here and a Tuck There
Since launching in the 2014 model year, the Mercedes-Benz CLA250 has been one of the brand’s hottest-selling cars. At one point, it was so hot that it was nearly impossible to find a dealer with one in stock. Now, after a few years, sales have tempered a bit, opening the door for a light refresh to stoke the embers in the 2017 model year.
As expected from a car that was extremely popular, the refresh given to the 2017 CLA250 is very subtle. The biggest changes include new front and rear bumpers. The front bumper now features a one-piece air inlet that spans from one side to the other and a body-colored piece that separates the middle section of this inlet from the front splitter. The rear bumper gains a flush-mounted tailpipe panel. Another small change is the addition of a new metallic hue, Lunar Blue.
The interior gets a few changes too, but they are also pretty simple and almost unnoticeable. These changes include a slimmer center-mounted display, revised seat covers, chrome-plated controls, revised dials with red needles, and new trim bits with a sail-look finish.
Where the majority of the changes lay for the CLA are in its new features for the 2017 model year. Buyers will find standard Active Brake Assist and a rearview camera, and optional LED headlights, Hands-Free Access, and more.
The powertrain remains unchanged as the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 208 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque is the base powerplant.
The 2017 CLA250 will debut at the New York Auto Show and will hit dealers in the third quarter of 2016.
