Aston Martin Creates an Insane Concept Car
Lest anyone accuse Aston Martin of producing cars that all look shockingly too much alike, the high-end car company has released a new concept vehicle that is unlike anything you have ever seen before. Marek Reichmann is the man responsible for the virtual concept, which of course is part of the Vision Gran Turismo series for PlayStation’s Gran Turismo 6.
Accusations have flown around that management at Aston Martin gave Reichmann a toad to lick before he drew the Design Prototype 100. Considering that it took an entire design team six months to cook up the design, such claims are dubious at best.
The car has a mid-engine layout and is powered by a twin-turbo V-12 that belts out around 800 horsepower. Of course, that has also spawned quite a bit of speculation that the engine has been virtually sourced from AMG, which recently entered an agreement to supply engines for the British mark.
The design of the exterior is wild and futuristic, like something you would expect to be featured in the next Tron movie. Even with the crazy design, it still has the signature Aston Martin grille and tail lights, because not having those would be criminal. The car also makes use of active aero elements on the body, while the headlights have some very unique NACA ducts.
If you needed a good excuse to finally by the PlayStation 3, this is it. The Design Prototype 100, along with 27 other virtual concept cars from other automakers, will be available for download in the month of July.
