My fingers have tinkered with many infotainment systems in my days. Some of them were super frustrating (hi, Ford Sync) while others were pretty intuitive. In the latter category falls Kia’s UVO system, which has always been pretty easy to navigate, even for a newbie. Today, Kia has announced that it is offering a free upgrade to its UVO system for owners of the 2016 K900.

This new upgrade, known as UVO Luxury Services, takes the existing system and adds a handful of convenience-enhancing features. These features include remote start/stop, remote climate control, remote lock/unlock, curfew and speed alerts, geofence settings and Local Search by Google.

In addition to the cool features, there is a handful of service- and safety-related features. These include 911 connect, enhanced roadside assistance, automatic diagnostics, manual diagnostics, scheduled diagnostics, driving information, Car Care Web, vehicle maintenance, and the eServices guide.

Making things super convenient is the fact that many of these features are run straight from your smartphone via he UVO Luxury smartphone app. Owners can down the app through iTunes or GooglePlay via the Kia App store. These services are available free of charge for the first five years you own the 2016 K900.
