In case you haven’t been paying attention, Patrick Dempsey doesn’t just play a doctor on television, he also can drive with the best of them. Take a look at his Facebook page, and you’ll see many of his fans annoyed each time he posts about racing. It’s actually pretty hilarious.

The guy’s more than just a pretty face, he’s raced in quite a few events. He also is a partner of the Dempsey Proton Racing team, lending his considerable expertise.

In any case, Porsche decided to have some fun, putting Dempsey in a new commercial you can watch below. The actor pulls up to a gas station at night and seems to think his pit crew will pop up out of nowhere, showing once you become a race driver, it’s hard to snap out of that mode.

This commercial shows Porsche as a brand isn’t completely forgetting its roots, even if Dempsey isn’t behind the wheel of a 911.
