Consumer Reports Frowns On The Honda Civic
Not everyone’s excited about the new, sportier Honda Civic. Consumer Reports used to love the little Honda, but times are changing. In the new Car Reliability Survey, just about every other Honda model was included.
So why does Consumer Reports now hate the Civic? It starts with the infotainment touchscreen, which apparently is “infuriating.” I’ve yet to try it out, so sure. Other drawbacks pointed out were no lumbar adjustment feature for the driver’s seat, a low supply of Civics with the Sensing suite of safety technologies on the market, and the fact the car can only be outfitted with LaneWatch in lieu of blind spot monitoring.
Do those seem like trivial things for Consumer Reports to pick at? You’re definitely not alone. Meanwhile, the Ford Escape made the list this time around, which is an interesting move.
Honda probably isn’t too happy about this situation, but it can still brag about basically the rest of its lineup being in the “Recommended” category. People will likely keep scooping up Civics like candy, so does it really matter? We’ll see.
