Hyundai Shows its New Tucson Night at SEMA
Hyundai is one of the few automakers that doesn’t hang its hat on limited-run special editions. With that said, it does, on occasion, release a few here and there. At SEMA, it unveiled a special model based on the Tucson crossover that it has dubbed the Night model.
This package is simple, but its results are quite stunning. It takes the family friendly looks of the Tucson and adds a sinister touch with carefully placed black accents. On the outside, buyers will find black-painted 19-inch RAYS wheels with black lug nuts, branded center caps and red valve stems, a darkened grille, gloss-black mirror caps, and a panoramic sunroof with dark-black tint.
Hyundai carefully selected four exterior colors that will pair with the black accents perfectly. They are Coliseum Gray, Caribbean Blue, Dazzling White, and Black Noir Pearl.
The darkening doesn’t continue inside the cabin, but the Night model does get a few new touches. It gains aluminum-alloy sport pedals, a perforated leather steering wheel, and front and rear LED map lights.
The press car Hyundai included with the release had the 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 175 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. There is no mention of this package being available with the base 2.0-liter four-cylinder.
Pricing is not available just yet, but Hyundai did mention that the Tucson Night will be available in late 2016.
