The people have spoken and Dodge is listening. Mopar fans went crazy when the Durango Shaker concept was unveiled for SEMA this year. That, according to the Detroit News, is making the company lean towards putting it into production.

In case you missed it at SEMA, the Dodge Durango Shaker concept uses a 6.4-liter Hemi V-8. Just like the name indicates, the hood contains a shaker-style scoop. Further enhancing performance and looks are 22-inch black wheels, a three-inch lower ride height, plus fog lights that are hollow in the middle to allow more airflow, just like those on the Challenger Hellcat.

One detail from the concept you shouldn’t expect for the production model is the seating. Having three rows of Viper seats would be awesome, but probably not practical.

Tim Kuniskis, the head honcho at Dodge, has some concerns. Mostly, he wonders if the average consumer will want such an SUV. After all, people who follow the SEMA show are anything but run-of-the-mill car shoppers. So a Durango Shaker isn’t a sure thing.
