2017 Maxima Gets Mild Upgrades, New Packages, and a Slight Price Hike

Last year, the Nissan Maxima received a polarizing redesign that left some loving it and others gasping at the amount of styling that went into the new sedan. Regardless of its looks, sales never dipped and the four-door sports car continued on its hot-selling way. For the 2017 model year, the Maxima gets some mild updates and a few new packages to go along with a mild price increase.

The only change to the standard equipment in the 2017 Maxima is the addition of Apple CarPlay, which allows the driver to link up their iPhone for safe, distraction-free driving.
Nissan also decided that the Midnight Package that it offered last year simply wasn’t enough customization for buyers and released two new packages. The new Medallion Package—only available on Platinum trim level—features a premium spoiler, 18-inch alloy wheels, illuminated kick plates, interior accent lighting, and exterior ground lighting. Also new is the Dynamic Package—only available on the SV trim—that adds in a premium spoiler, 18-inch alloy wheels, illuminated kick plates, and side rocker molding. The Medallion Package runs $1,345, the Dynamic Package adds on $990, and the carryover Midnight Package (available only on the SR trim) adds $1,195.
In addition to these changes, Nissan gave the 2017 Maxima a small price increase. The prices and their respective increases are as follows.
- Maxima S $32,560 ($50 increase)
- Maxima SV $34,540 ($50 increase)
- Maxima SL $37,040 ($50 increase)
- Maxima SR $37,820 ($50 increase)
- Maxima Platinum $39,990 ($30 increase)
