Toyota Celebrates 50 Years of Corolla with a Special Edition

Toyota recently unveiled the significantly refreshed 2017 Corolla, but that’s not all that the automaker is doing to celebrate its resident compact sedan hitting its golden years. It has also crafted a 50th Anniversary Special Edition to send the Corolla over the hill in style.

In creating this limited-edition model, Toyota begins with a Corolla SE, which is the sportier of the trims, then adds in a collection of interior and exterior mods to make it special.
On the outside, the 50th Anniversary Edition Corolla gains 17-inch alloys with a machine finish and dark-grey-painted inserts, complex-LED headlights, and 50th Anniversary Edition badging. Optionally, buyers can toss a moonroof in for an added cost. The cabin gains the Entune Audio Plus with Connected Navigation, a 7-inch touchscreen, a 4.2-inch multi-information screen between the gauges, push-button start, black mixed-media seats with Black Cherry contrast stitching and accents, and 50th Anniversary Edition floor mats.
Color options are limited to three hues, including an exclusive Black Cherry, Classic Silver, and Blizzard Pearl.
Other than the aforementioned modifications, the 2017 Corolla 50th Anniversary Edition will be the same as any 2017 Corolla SE on a dealer lot. With that said, this model should retain some value with Corolla fans as Toyota will build just 8,000 examples for the U.S.
There are no pricing details yet, but we should learn this in the coming months as Toyota plans to have this limited model on showroom floors in the fall of 2016. Stay tuned for additional info.
