When the Golf SportWagen debuted in 2014, it arrived in three trim levels: S, SE, and SEL. With those, Volkswagen assumed it had all of its bases covered. Now, fully entrenched in its second model year, the SportWagen gains a new, value-oriented trim level that offers buyers some of the more desired features without a huge price tag.

This new trim, known as the Limited Edition, will sit between the S and SE trims, and deliver some of the most popular options without draining your bank. In comparison to the base S trim, the Limited Edition rolls in with adaptive cruise, blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, auto emergency braking, 17-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, chrome trim around the windows, and “Limited badges.”

Inside, this better-equipped model comes with leatherette seating, KESSY keyless entry with push-button start, heated front seats, and V’s MIB II Infotainment system with USB ports, VW-Car Net App-Connect, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, MirrorLink, and more.

Powering the SportWagen Limited Edition is nothing overly special as it uses the typical 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 170 horsepower and 199 pound-feet of torque. This engine pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission to get up to 35 mpg highway,

As I mentioned earlier, this new trim will straddle the gap between the S and SE trims. It’ll start from $24,995, which is $3,370 more than the S and $2,030 less than the SE trim. Volkswagen has yet to announce when the SportWagen Limited Edition will be available at dealers, but I suspect it will arrive in the next month, or so.
