The Best Performance Cars of 2016 Under $30,000

6. Ford Mustang
Wherever the Camaro goes, the Mustang is certainly not too far behind and vice-versa. This is true today, as the recently redesigned `Stang rolls in with all the goods it needs to do battle with its Detroit rival.
With a starting price of $24,145, the 2016 Mustang gives buyers plenty of room to grow upward and stay under the $30k cap. What’s more, buyers can also opt for a drop-top model and still stay just under $30 grand.
Available powertrains under $30,000 include a base 300-horsepower V-6 and the optional 310-horsepower 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder. The V-6 engine gets the Mustang to 60 mph in the six-second range, while the EcoBoost drops the sprint to just shy of six ticks—both respectable numbers for lower-level powerplants.
