Maserati rolled into the Motor City with a trio of vehicles, helping the Italian automaker steal some of the spotlight. Maserati is hot after finishing out 2014 with a 136 percent increase in annual global sales versus what it saw in 2013. In fact, the year was so good it was the best the brand has ever seen, even though it’s been around for a hundred years.

The new Ghibli was the big sales generator for 2014, so it made sense that the company brought along a limited edition version of the sedan. The Ghibli Ermenegildo Zegna Concept turned some heads by joining together two legendary Italian brands. As a result, the car features some high-fashion interior appointments along with unique 20-inch wheels. Only 100 units of the limited edition car will be made.

Another concept car, called the Alfieri, is a 2+2 that has made the rounds at other car shows around the globe, with general approval circulating along with it. The concept was created as a way to celebrate the company’s centennial, which is why it has design elements of past models and a touch of futuristic flair. The car is also more performance-oriented than the GranTurismo. The good news is it will actually be put into production in 2016, with a convertible version releasing in 2017. The car could have a V-6 or V-8 engine, and either one would be turbocharged. Exactly what about the concept will be retained for the production model is something everyone will have to wait and see.

The third vehicle Maserati brought along to Detroit was the 2015 Quattroporte S Q4. Maserati showcased the car to emphasize the improvements for 2015, like more paint colors, additional trim options, and other equipment like mobile WiFi. Buyers can add 19-inch Apollo wheels with a matte anthracite finish that has been smoothed using diamonds, or 20-inch GTS wheels with silver finish. The GTS model has a twin-turbo V-8 that pushes out 523 horsepower, which should be enough to make anyone excited.
