A Croatian Hypercar Just Embarrassed Ferrari

Most people wouldn’t think much of a car made in Croatia. While the Vimac Concept One is rather good-looking, the hypercar delivers where it really counts: earth-shattering performance.

Hypercars are supposed to be off-the-charts amazing compared to your average Altima or whatever boring vehicle most people drive. As you can see in the video below, the Vimac Concept One is well beyond impressive. The thing smokes a LaFerrari in a straight-out drag race.

The Rimac’s design is novel. There are four motors, one for each corner, and a gearbox for each motor. Peak output is 1,073 horsepower. Since it’s all-electric, off-the-line acceleration is tremendous, just like the Tesla Model S P90D that’s in the race as well. But the Vimac doesn’t settle down as the speed increases, and instead keeps pouring it on. Usually EVs don’t behave that way, so the Croatians have definitely worked some wonderful engineering magic.
