5. Don’t be afraid to walk away.

Sometimes no matter what you do at a car dealership you will not make any progress toward getting a good deal on a new car. If you feel that you are being jerked around by the dealership staff as the hours tick by, remember that you don’t have to sit there and take it. Just get up and walk out of the dealership and head straight toward your car. If anyone asks you why you’re leaving, tell them it’s because nobody is giving you a good deal on the car you want so you’re going elsewhere. Sometimes the sales associate or the sales manager will go running after you to make an offer that might be tempting. If the offer lines up with what you were originally wanting, make them put it in writing quickly and tell them you’re watching the clock. Sometimes you have to actually leave the dealership and you will receive a phone call later with the offer of a better deal on a car. If you do not receive such a phone call, it’s time to shop at other dealerships that are more willing to negotiate.

    They forgot the most important advice.
    Buy a car in august/september when the new models are coming out and car companies lower prices of new but 1 year old models to get rid of stock. You can get real deals and in some cases good credit conditions.
