If you own a Volkswagen, I have some news you might really hate. Every time it seems like values have finally bottomed out after the Dieselgate scandal broke in the fall, they dip even further. This fiery nosedive looks like it might be far from over.

New data from Autolist shows just how bad things have become in the United States market. TDIs with the emissions cheat device have seen a 6.9 percent drop in value. All other VWs have taken a 2.7 percent hit, on average.

Lest you think selling your VW will be a quick but painful process, know that Autolist found cars with that particular badge are taking even longer to sell. TDIs are the slowest, sitting on dealer lots 126 percent longer than the average car. All of this means dealers in the US are losing about $20 million on used Volkswagens.

The deal is that every time it looks like Volkswagen’s about to start taking action on Dieselgate, it does something to make the situation even worse. With the recall plan release coming up on Thursday, there are serious doubts the company has a solution at all.

Of course, we’ll keep you updated on what happens next, but it looks like this train wreck won’t be cleaned up anytime soon.
