Mazda Releases the MX-5 Sport Recaro Limited Edition

The redesigned Mazda MX-5 Miata is one of the biggest reveals in the past year, and the automaker isn’t just going to let its popularity go without cashing in on it. Recently, Mazda released a limited-edition version of the roadster in an attempt to squeeze a few more dollars (or Pounds in the case of this model) from its fans. Ladies and gents, meet the Mazda MX-5 Miata Sport Recaro Limited Edition.

This model separates itself from the rest of its brethren by way of a Brilliant Black body kit that includes side air skirts, front and rear air dams, and a rear spoiler. Also included are 17-in diamond-cut alloy wheels with the “MX-5” logo engraved in them.

Inside the cabin, the Sport Recaro Limited Edition unsurprisingly gets a set of unique Recaro seats to live up to its name. Also included in here is a premium Bose audio system, navigation, and an individually numbered plaque.

Outside of its aesthetic changes, the MX-5 Miata Sport Recaro Limited Edition it identical to the MX-5 Sport Nav that it is based on. This includes the under-the-metal bits like its 2.0-liter engine that produces 160 PS and 200 Nm of torque, and its 50-50 weight distribution that helps it deliver go-cart-like handling.

Mazda will limit production of the Sport Recaro Limited Edition model to just 600 units, none of which will be available in the U.S. It will be available in just two colors: Soul Red Metallic or Ceramic Metallic. The base price will check in at £24,295 ($36,930), which is a £1,000 ($1,520) increase over the MX-5 Miata Sport Nav trim with the 2.0-liter engine.

As far as I can tell, the Sport Recaro Limited Edition is available as of today.
